Living Faith - With Faith

But now apart from the law a righteousness of God hath been manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;  even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ unto all them that believe ; for there is no distinction;  for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;  being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:  whom God set forth to be a propitiation, through faith , in his blood , to show his righteousness because of the passing over of the sins done aforetime, in the forbearance of God;  for the showing, I say , of his righteousness at this present season: that he might himself be just, and the justifier of him that hath faith in Jesus . (Romans 3:21-26)      Faith is not your works.  Faith is your belief, your commitment, and your complete trust.  Anyone can commit actions of good works.  Please note, faith is more than good works, faith is believing in God and be...

Living Faith

Recently, I finished reading "Margaret Marsh, Safari Servant" written by Genny Waddell, and this life story has challenged me.  Challenged me to consider if I'm living by faith.  I consider that my life reflects my faith, but while I examine myself, I question if I'm living faith.  Shortly after I committed my life to Christ, God opened doors and wonderful things happened.  As I have lived in faith, all my needs have been met.  I know God is in control.  Now, as I sit here and consider Mrs. Marsh's life, I understand more than ever the importance of stepping out in faith.  I realize it isn't about money and physical needs.  It is about service and obedience to the call to serve.      Each Christian has a special call to serve.  We aren't called to sit around just reading through the Bible each year and saying a daily prayer.  When Jesus commanded, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel," (Mark 16...

Loneliness - Guilt -Shame

"Why are you cast down, O my soul?"      "Why am I distressed?"      These are questions asked in Psalms 42  Depression and loneliness can crumble you from the inside.  When it hits, I have feelings of guilt.  Feelings I shouldn't have.  It is like any illness; we can't always control when the illness will strike our bodies.  Unfortunately, depression and loneliness runs through our emotions without warning.  I didn't see it coming.  I thought I had everything under control.     I felt content and happy the day before the uncontrollable tears and brokenness hit.  So, I ask myself why.  Why the sudden feeling of heaviness on my soul?      With the COVID19 and quarantine, it is easy for me to understand that isolation from real people is main reason for this heaviness that has come from inside me.  I thought I had this under control by staying in touch with famil...

Grief and Loneliness

Grief and loneliness hurt.  They start in your heart and rip it into pieces as your mind and body wrenches in pain.  I know.  After my father died, there was an emptiness.  I had anxiety attacks.  I'm thankful I had Kevin to help me through the anxiety.  I feared that something was going to happen to our children.  Every time we went out and left the children with a sitter, my heart would race, my head would pound, and I trembled in fear that they would not be at home when we returned.  For two years, we cut many date nights short.  Then, the chest pains and gasping for air would grab my body for no reason.  So, I thought.  It was the pain of grief that I had to face.  I had to slow down and deal with my loss and my grief.      Then, after thirty eight years of marriage, Kevin died.  He died with no warning. I was in shock for a few weeks.  I tried to find a normal, but there was ...

Faith and God in Me

Words of Jesus:  "God is Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." John 4:24 "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.  For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life."  John 3: 14-16 "Thou shalt love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind."  Matthew 22:37      My faith is in God who sent his son as redemption for my sins.  When I accepted Christ as my Savoir, there wasn't anyone to mentor me spiritually.  I was a child and I was taught the laws of God.  The Spirit of God was not part of my training.  However, God was in me and God was directing my path.  I wasn't perfect.  We have free will to make our own c...

Worship in Spirit - I Need People

"But the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeks such to worship him.  God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." Jesus' words in John 4:23,24.      It has been many weeks worshipping alone.  With live streaming of messages, I've had many good messages to ponder.  Throwing something non-essential* into equation: Last Sunday I noticed again that a few pastors preached on same topic - however different.  Folks, this is how God works with different twists on same scripture or same theme with different scripture.  All are for a purpose.  I know these pastors didn't plan it, because they don't know each other and are from different denominations.  You see; my faith is in the living God who works in men to show His purpose.  Now, let's get back to my topic.  Yes, we are to worship in spirit, but I need people. ...
