For Christmas Share Jesus
Christmas is here, and what are our first thoughts? Do we greet people with how we love Jesus? You do know that Christmas is the celebration of Jesus coming to earth to be born in a stable. Hundreds of years before Jesus was born, prophets wrote about his birth. So, I'm challenging myself this holiday season to share the story of Jesus.
Paul, the first missionary, boldly shared the gospel of Jesus. Take a look at Romans. He starts the letter, "Greetings, I'm Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of Jesus Christ. This gospel was promised by God a long, long, time ago by God's prophets in the holy scriptures. Now, concerning God's Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh. Jesus was declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead." (from Romans 1:1-4,17)
What a way to share your faith? No waiting for the right moment, but out there front and center. Do you suppose if we are more open and bold about our faith in God, we all could change 100% more lives? This month, let's get started by remembering why Jesus came to earth.
Remember that when Adam and Eve sinned, sin grew. People turned from God, but God's love is so great, that "God commended his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
Jesus died for us, but the grave could not hold him. On the third day, the tomb was empty because he lives! Through the resurrection, Jesus lives, and "if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved." Romans 10:9
Through Jesus, we can have a renewed life filled with the spirit of God. As reminded in Romans 6:23, "the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Yes, with our hope and faith in Jesus, we have a new life and the promise of eternal life in heaven with our savoir. With our faith in Jesus, we can overcome anything and live a full life in our faith.
This Christmas, we can share the story of Jesus and praise God because "the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death." Romans 8:2
Now, for Christmas, let's share the story of Jesus.
