From Faith to Joy

I have concluded that Paul, writer of most of the New Testament, is the most read writer in the world.  His craft with words is brilliant.  An example is Romans 5:1-11.  He starts with faith binding justified, peace, grace, hope, glory, love, reconciliation, salvation, Holy Ghost and blood to joy.  Open your Bible with me and see how faith leads to joy.
In the first sentence, we are justified by faith which gives us "peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."  Don't ever forget, it is all about the son, Jesus Christ.  Jesus was there in Genesis with "In the Beginning" and is still with us today.  Yes!  "We have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God." (2)   With faith we have hope.  However, we can find joy in the knowledge that in all things we can find glory with God.
When we speak of joy, rejoicing, and glory, we think of easy times.  God does not promise that you will be rich and have everything imaginable.  He promises that you will have peace in your heart and will be able to have glory in hard times.  Why?  Because, because we learn from our mistakes and hard times.  Experience will show you that hard times forces you to learn to be patient.  Patience comes from life's experiences.  Hopefully, you learn from your experiences where you don't repeat the bad choices and gain the knowledge to advise others.  Through those experiences we hope, and the best hope is in the love of God. (3 & 4)
Since God loves you, he has given you the Holy Spirit to live in your heart.  When you faithfully repent of your sins and accept God, he lives in you. (5)  He abides with you.  God does this because he loves you so much that while sin covered the world, Christ died for you. (8)  If you believe, you are justified by the blood of Jesus. (9)  God's love and our faith knowing that Jesus died for us reconciles us to God.  Jesus saved us with his life (10) and God lives in us through the Holy Spirit.  "And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received atonement." (11)
From faith to joy, Paul shares the way to atonement.  He opened his heart and wrote to people he never met.  He wanted to share the gospel with the world.  He wanted all to have the joy of knowing Jesus.  As Paul finished his letter to the Romans, he wrote, "Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost." Romans 15:13

If you don't have this joy that can fill you even in hard times, open your Bible.  Read Romans 6.  Then, read Romans 3.  As God opens your heart, believe, pray, repent, and commit your heart to God.  Begin your journey of faith and rejoice in all that comes your way.
